B. V. Khattatov,  J.-F. Lamarque,  L. V. Lyjak, R. Menard,  P. F. Levelt,  X. X. Tie,   J. C. Gille, G. P. Brasseur, Assimilation of satellite observations of chemical species in global chemistry-transport models, submitted to J. Geophys. Res., 2000.

The data set consists of 11 netCDF files, for 11 month in 1993. Each file contains results of UARS MLS ozone assimilation in 3-D CTM ROSE. Since very few observations are available in October 1993, there is no file for this month.The assimilation was performed every hour, hence there are about 720 (30 days * 24) analyses per file. The structure of each netcdf file is as given below:

dimensions:
nlon = 32 ;
nlat = 36 ;
nlev = 7 ;
n_analyses = 720 ;

variables:
float longitudes(nlon) ;
float latitudes(nlat) ;
float pressures(nlev) ;
int date(n_analyses) ;
int sec(n_analyses) ;
float chi2(n_analyses) ;
float field(n_analyses, nlev, nlat, nlon) ;
float variance(n_analyses, nlev, nlat, nlon) ;
