The following plot shows comparisons of modeled CO with data from TOPSE experiment.

The derived emissions have been used in the MOZART 2 model to simulate reaslistic CO distributions for 2001. We then compared these distributions with independent measurements from several different sources.

The plot below demonstrates comparisons between NOAA CMDL station measured CO (blue), modeled CO obtained using old emissions (black) and simulated CO obtained with the optimized emissions (red).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The last figure shows comparisons with TRACE-P experiment data. Shaded area represents the range and solid line is the mean of TRACE-P data. Dotted line is CO simulated with old emissions, and dashed-dotted line is CO profile obtained with optimized surface fluxes.
