One
section of standard 2-meter walk-up tower will be placed on the top of
each seacontainer. The tower is comprised of tubing with outside
diameter of 2" (5.1 cm). The inside diameter of the tubing near the
tower section corners is 1.8" (4.6 cm). There is a platform at the
top of the tower that is 23 by 59 inches (58 by 150 cm). The tower
is 6 feet long (1.5 m) and 4.4 feet wide (1.1 m). The vertical tubing
on the tower is not symmetric - it is 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) taller on one
end than the other. Plan for the Lambertian surface behind the light collector of your instrument
to sit 14.2 inches (36 cm) above the platform at the top of the tower.
The top of the tower section is about 5 m above the ground.
As
you can see there are numerous plates along one side of each seacontainer
to feed gas lines, fiber optics and electrical connections to the light
collection section of the instrument.
